Exam Location

We will meet in room 403 at the Language Center. I will put signs on the doors and write the room number on the board. Be sure to bring all of your portfolio documents and be ready to write your short essay/ long paragraph.

Here are a list of materials to help review lecture content.

Paragraph Characteristics
Not all of the information from class, but a general reminder about the various parts and characteristics of a good paragraph.

Coordinating Conjunctions
A review of coordinating conjunctions and when to use commas with them. Even though this grammar point is quite basic, it is a common mistake.

Subordinating Conjunctions
This presentation shows how to use subordinating conjunctions and examples of them.

Conjunctive Adverbs
Another Prezi. A review of conjunctive adverbs, including examples, usage, and practice.

Appositives
A review of appositives with a bit more information about the punctuation and purpose of them. Do not worry too much about "necessary" or "unnecessary" information. The main goal is just to use them.

Style Guidelines
This presentation will review and exemplify the characteristics of style that I want you to start practicing. The examples are simple, but they will help you hone your ability before trying to apply them to your own writing.
